St. Philip's is a growing church, mirroring the growth in Frisco and surrounding
communities. It is a church where God is present, the Bible is taught, and
its members can grow their faith.
We want your first visit to our church to be a warm and welcoming experience,
and one way to do that, is to tell you what to expect. We hope our website
can help answer some of your questions, and moreover, encourage you to come
and see for yourself what God is doing here.
Here are the answers to questions designed to make your first visit as simple
and enjoyable as possible.
What time are the services?
There are two services each Sunday morning, 9:30 a.m. & 11:00 a.m. If you
have kids, come a little early, so that you can drop your kids off at our
nursery (infants - pre K, or in our Kid's Club (K-5). We have designated parking
spaces for First time visitors.
Where is the church located?
We are located at 6400
Stonebrook Parkway, just west of the Tollway, in Frisco.
What do the kids do?
What should I expect when I get inside?
When you enter the doors to the narthex, you will be met by one of our friendly
greeters. They will show you where to get a nametag, and guest information
brochures. They will point you to the Sanctuary straight ahead as you walk
in the narthex.
As you enter the Sanctuary, an usher will hand you a bulletin with all the
information about the service in it. All the directions for what to do will
be in the bulletin, including words for the songs, when to sit and stand,
and how Communion works.
Most of this same information is announced by the priest during the service
at the appropriate times. If you aren't sure of something, just watch what
those around you do!
Where do I sit?
You can sit anywhere that you feel comfortable. If it's crowded, the ushers
will help you find a seat.
What do I do about Communion?
All baptized Christians (of any denomination) are welcome to participate
in Communion. You don't have to be an Episcopalian. If you do not wish to
take Communion, you may come to the rail, cross your arms, and receive a blessing.
You may also remain in your seat, and pray or reflect during that time.
How long will the service last?
The service generally lasts one hour. Please feel free to mingle in the
narthex, meet people, visit our Guest Information Desk, and meet our clergy
after the service! If you dropped off kids, don’t forget to pick them
up, and most importantly, we hope you’ll come back again soon!
