We desire to experience God's presence and power in worship:
A key part of our lives as Christians is worship. Worship is enjoying
the presence of God and giving Him honor and praise.
It can happen privately in our time of prayer, it can happen in groups as
they include praise and prayer in their meetings. But it can also happen as
a congregation gathers on a regular basis to celebrate what God has done for
us and to join our prayers as one people.
Worship is a central part of our life together as a congregation. From the
very beginning of this church's life we have gathered together in small
groups for worship and the Eucharist.
We will continue to do so as we grow.
We practice excellent liturgical worship with an emphasis on allowing
people to connect with God and with one another. There is uplifting music
that includes both traditional hymns and more recent praise music.
The reading of Scriptures is a part of every gathering and we expand
on it with interesting sermons that can be applied to daily life. You will
have the opportunity to join a community of believers in prayer.
Finally, and as important as all the rest, we join together in celebrating
the Lord's Supper in words that have been used by faithful people for centuries.
The richness of Anglican worship provides a way for all participants to experience
a fullness of worship. Through it we thank God for all that He has done, is
doing now and will do in the future.
What does your service look like?
Worship is the central part of our life together. Each week our community gathers to celebrate what God has done for us. Worship at St. Philip's is intended for the honor and glory of God and to provide opportunities to hear and learn from the Word of God.
We want our visitors and members to feel welcome, comfortable and
inspired. Our services provide a blend of traditional and contemporary aspects
of worship. At all worship services at St. Philip's, we use the 1979 Book
of Common Prayer.
The whole purpose of our liturgy is to involve people, so that "Church" isn't
just something you watch, it's something you experience.
The first half of the service includes the opening greetings, the reading of Scripture Lessons, the sermon and singing. The second half of the service includes prayers, the liturgy of the Lord's Supper, and Holy Communion.
We celebrate Communion, also called the Eucharist, when we gather
to remember the work and sacrifice of Christ. At St. Philip's, the Eucharist
is celebrated every Sunday and on other major feast days in the Christian
year. All baptized Christians, from any denomination, are invited to participate.

our sermons are like click here to listen to one of our recent sermons.
