Belize is the ideal first international mission for anyone. There are no physical limitations, no language barrier, it’s a short flight from home, and the food is really good! This is an amazing opportunity to grow your faith and to be a blessing at the same time. With the posture of Christ-like servants, we seek to encourage, support, provide resources, manpower and love for our partners and those they serve, to help sustain them day in and day out.
For the past twelve years, our teams have traveled to many different communities in Belize. In June of 2012, St. Philip’s began a long-term partnership with St. Ann’s Anglican Church in Belmopan. We share a common vision to transform our communities through the saving grace of Christ, with relationships at the core of this transformation. Our churches work together, learning from one another how to live out the gospel in our daily lives to reach the lost in both of our communities.
As our relationship with the Diocese developed, we definitely felt God’s hand leading us. He has shown us we can impact the lives in this country in the form of education. In the summer of 2006, we sent our first team of teachers to Belize to model best teaching practices and to come along side Belizean teachers throughout the country to support them in building the knowledge and resource base needed to accomplish the goal of preparing all children to take a productive place in society. Like St. Philip’s, St. Ann’s Church also contains a Primary School on their campus. The vision for transforming lives through education continues through our partnership with St. Ann’s Primary School. You do not have to be a teacher or have an education degree to be a part of our education focused missions. There are roles for all skills and giftings.
