Are We Worshiping Yet?
Last Sunday was a special day in our church, when 30 children from our Communion Discovery class had their first Communion experience. As part of their class, they were taught how to fully engage in the act of worship. We feel like we help “get it right” with our kids, but what happens when it goes wrong?
Comedian George Carlin blamed his atheism on a disappointing childhood worship experience. He was told that he would “feel different” when he first took Communion – and he didn’t. But what SHOULD happen at that moment? How do we know if we’ve fully worshiped or not when we leave a service?
