Dealing with Hateful Hearts
After David’s stunning victory over Goliath, he was met with great celebration and the adoration of everyone – except King Saul. Saul hated David, consumed with anger and jealousy. Hatred isn’t always a bad thing – God hates evil and wickedness, and calls us to join Him in hating those things. But sometimes hatred “goes rogue” in our own lives. We may find ourselves hating someone, something, or a situation – or become the object of someone else’s hatred. What can David teach us about hate under those circumstances?
