Discipled Living – Knowing
Most of us have attended a high school graduation ceremony at some point in our lives. I remember my own commencement being so lengthy, and especially hard to sit through for an 18-year-old. The service concluded with a benediction – a prayer – given by a well-known pastor, and it, too, seemed to go on forever. I do remember a couple of things he said, though. One of them being the catchy “Say “nope” to dope, and “not at all” to alcohol” (he liked to rhyme). But he also prayed for our class to have the courage and faith to “talk the talk and walk the walk”.
The first letter of John teaches us how to “talk the talk and walk the walk”. How does John’s letter help us live into our life of discipleship?
