Jesus’ Stories – Identity
Have you noticed no one ever has a name in Jesus’ parables? People are referred to as “sower”, “son”, “samaritan”, etc. without a name – except in one story. In Luke 16, Jesus tells of an unnamed rich man – and a beggar named Lazarus, whose name means “God is my help”. His very identity was in Christ.
What is the source of your identity? What does this parable teach about the importance of your identity as a follower of Jesus, the enduring nature of identity, and how you can receive a Gospel-based identity that gives your life value, no matter what life’s circumstances?
