Walk of Faith – Enduring Faith

As a man walked through a barren area, dehydrated and starving, he came upon an abandoned homestead. There he found a pump, a small jug of water and a note. The note instructed him not to drink from the jug, but told him how to prime the pump so that he could get the water he so desperately needed, and leave some for others who would come after him. If he heeded the note, he was staking his life on a written promise of survival.

Christianity asks us to stake our lives on a written promise. Hebrews 10 gives us an illustration of this concept of faith, by fusing the written promises of the Old Testament with the tangible pouring out of Christ’s love, as we come to understand Christ is the written promise. How does this help us live out our own enduring faith?
