Walk of Faith – Unshakeable Faith

When I look at the famous Thanksgiving painting by the legendary artist Norman Rockwell, I notice three things. One, this is a group of people that are really glad to be there, ready to enjoy their feast. Two, the one presenting the food, representing the work behind it, wears a tired, slightly labored look. Finally we see the joy in this idyllic picture of Thanksgiving – a beautiful portrait of food, family and fellowship.

These same kind of movements are seen in today’s passage of Hebrews 12. As we make our way to the Thanksgiving feast, there is a challenge of discipleship. As we arrive at the feast, there is a charge on our behavior. And lastly there is the calling – why we’re going to the feast in the first place. What is this Thanksgiving meal that we’re invited to?
